The temple and its gardens also appeared in an episode of the ABC series Lost, "House of the Rising Sun" in season one as the home of Sun's father. Waimea Valley is an area of historic cultural significance on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. The valley, being an important place in Hawaiian religion, includes several historical structures including stone terraces and walls constructed during the time of the Hawaiian monarchy. Throughout history Waimea Valley has been home to many people of the Kahuna class, thus being recognized as, "The Valley of the Priests." Hawaiian religion, which many still practice today, is polytheistic, meaning many gods. Hawaiians worship four main gods: Kane Hawaiian god of the forests and the trees.
